While it is pretty bare, it keeps from being monotonous by keeping you just at the limits of your knowledge, and makes you feel just smart enough to have confidence but challenged enough that you actually learn something.

Sometimes I have a hard time tearing myself away from this app. I have learned a lot and absorbing more every day. Best app by far for the money.

Have only had this app for a couple of days, but I am already impressed. After a couple of hours on Lesson 1, the maid walked into my hotel room in Panama and asked me a simple question which I understood without panicking or trying to translate. Fortunately, the question only required a yes or a no - two words which comprise 50% of my Spanish vocabulary. Thank heavens the vocab lesson comes next. Seriously, this is an elegantly simple, effective program which allows you to proceed at your own pace. One of critical features is making you self-assess your confidence level on every question. At first, I tended to paint a rosy picture, over-estimating my grasp of the question. You very quickly learn to be as truthful as possible when asked how you feel about your grasp of the answers to the questions you are being asked. I have used other interactive programs for French and Italian - programs where you hold two way conversations with your computer and the computer rates your accent. I was worried that BrainScape, not having this two-way capability, would not be as good . . . not so, I believe that I am able to listen to the Brainscape answers and rate my own accent at least as well as any computer can.

I cant believe that I got this stunning program for free. Im in a chicken/egg situation: I probably wouldnt have got it if I had to pay full price, but now that I have it, I wish I could have paid full price for it. Fantastic program that takes you through the basics of Spanish, both grammar and pronunciation. Ill be looking into more programs from this company. I realise that I sound like a shill, but I dont care -- a terrific product!

Very good for memorizing vocab and grammar. A good supplement to a full program by Michel Thomas or individual lessons.

A unique and innovative approach to the old-fashioned cue card.

I have been using this app for a few months and I really like it. I feel as though Ive been getting a great foundation in Spanish and I can carry on simple conversations and ask and understand hundreds of questions. Its really effective and intelligently progress you along in understanding.

A great companion to Spanish classes. Its system of repetition and explanation ensure you understand what you are learning, not just memorizing.

Ive downloaded 5-7 Spanish learning apps and this is the one I use day in day out. Combine this with coffee break Spanish podcasts and you have a good set of leaning tools

This is just a glorified flash card system. Doesnt explain personal pronouns or give you any basic structure of the language. No explanation of adjectives, adverbs etc. If you want to learn any language this system is not effective at all. The description is faulty, as the material is presented in a flash card system only. If you have no knowledge of the language stay away from this app as you will have no clue on how to structure a sentence or conjugate a verb. Overall a waste of money.

Ive been studying Spanish for years and while I find theres lots material analyzing structure, this app has a nice flow to reviewing phrases and terms. Helps me gage how well Ive learned. Definitely has helped me.

Simply amazing how this app can teach Spanish! I recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn a second language at your own pace.

Great on the go tool for learning that realy speeds up the learning process

I love the progressive learning. This has been the tool that has worked best for me as far as learning to conjugate verbs. It asks you to provide endings for been types eg -ir -ar -er. And also asks you to conjugate specific verbs. Eg comer, hablar, escribir. Awesome app

Their motto is "learn faster" and that is so true. There are no childish, time consuming games like; "Tell Me More" which I paid $200 for and never use... And they wont refund my money. Brainscape is the best!

Really good app!!!!!- it is helping me a lot with picking up the Spanish language - helps me understands grammar very well- goes great in conjunction with Rosetta Stones-Rosetta Stones has images- this wonderful app has explanations- perfect hand in hand in my opinion.

I bought this app a year ago before I went to Spain to study. Ive got to admit that it helped me prepare a lot for Spain, but, what I found a little problematic is that a lot of their vocabulary are Latin American Spanish words. They sometime offer explanations of the words and where they are used, but not always: For example, in one of their flashcards, "driving a car" is "manejar un carro" where-else the Spaniards would say "conducir un coche". In conclusion, it is an excellent app for those who seek to learn Latin American Spanish, but dont get me wrong, it is still a great app to get an introduction to the language even if you are heading to Spain: you might just have to learn some new words and phrases.
